Can Counselling Help Save a Relationship

Life is full of challenges, and romantic relationships between two people can be particularly difficult. In fact, it's estimated that the divorce rate around the world has never been higher – which is why couples counselling has become increasingly popular over the years.

Relationship counselling can be a great way for couples to work through their issues and potentially save their relationship. It provides a safe, non-judgmental environment in which both partners can express their feelings and work through the issues that are causing strain in their relationship.

So, Will Counselling Save Us?

When it comes to trying to save a relationship, counselling can be one of the most effective tools – but it’s no guarantee. Counselling helps couples to identify unhelpful patterns in their relationship, enables them to express their feelings and works through communication and relationship issues in a safe environment. Counselling can also help to keep couples on track and provide a structured approach to resolving their issues. While it helps and the success rate is relatively high, there are no guarantees that relationship counselling will be enough to save your relationship; this will really be dependent on both parties, the environmental surrounds of the relationship and the source of the issues.

What is Relationship Counselling?

A relationship counsellor, such as Sami, will help couples identify the areas of their relationship that must be addressed. She will then provide tools and techniques to help work through those issues. Counselling may involve talking about feelings, communication, and setting goals for the couple to work towards. Relationship counselling will also help couples to gain insight into why certain behaviours are occurring and how to avoid repeating patterns that are not helpful. Going to your session with an open mind and a willingness to speak honestly & openly will help you make the most of your counselling.

Will Counselling Make Us Happy?

Counselling can help to improve communication and understanding between partners, and it can help to bring an increased sense of peace and understanding to a relationship. While counselling can help make relationships healthier, it is not necessarily guaranteed to make a couple happy. Happiness is an individual experience, and it is up to each person to decide what makes them happy and how to achieve it.
